| After becoming quite frustrated with the boundaries and limitations of religion, I decided to define what religion meant to me. This may not apply to you, or anyone else for that matter, but in my world, religion is the politics of spirituality. Politics in that religion is where man-defined rules determine the limits of behavior or thoughts as they relate to spirituality.
Frequently, those limits are based on somebodys ego rather than true spiritual laws. This does not invalidate all religions. They are generally based on true laws, and the primary practices will produce positive results. The problem, in my view, is that religions restrict the indiviuals access to spiritual practices. Anybody who truly wants to establish a closer connection to the higher power will ultimately run into an aritifical wall which cannot be breached within the confines of that religion.
I no longer subscribe to any particular religion myself, but I respect others who choose to. Especially those who "believe" more than one hour a week. | |
